Stoneboat Farm Camelids is located in beautiful northern Door County,
Wisconsin. The name "Stoneboat" comes from the many old rock piles and stone fences
which grace our farm. These fieldstone marvels were built many years ago
with the use of stoneboats pulled by horses to clear the fields of all
the rock and stone.
When John and Linda were looking to start another business, we thought
it would be great to have livestock on the farm. When we first saw
alpacas, we were intrigued. Upon learning of their friendly demeanor and
exquisite fiber, we were sold. We started out small with two full
Peruvian females. Never would we have imagined how the alpaca business
would have become such a wonderful family experience. We have since
added Bactrian camels to our Camelid family. Our children show the
alpacas, ride the camels and love to help take care of these gentle
animals. We are striving to raise top quality
alpacas and camels through careful breeding selections. Our alpacas are registered
with the Alpaca Registry, Inc.. We also belong to the AOBA, ARI, and the
AFCNA.
All the seasons in Door County are beautiful. In addition, there are
numerous attractions, parks, beaches, shops, galleries, and events for
the entire family. Call to arrange for a farm visit to see what the
wonderful world of camelids is all about. You are welcome any time of the
year at Stoneboat Farm Camelids.
